September at the 19th-century Listowel Racecourse in County Kerry means the Harvest Festival, one of the biggest weeks in Ireland’s racing season. People come from all over Ireland and abroad for races like Wednesday’s Kerry National Handicap Chase, which is the high point of the week. But Friday’s Ladies’ Day is the one that packs them in, often drawing crowds of more than 25,000.
